HOXliday Celebration (Event)
In the Zoom meeting I attended, I was able to learn more about Hox Zodiac, Chinese Zodiacs, and the year of the snake.
The event started with the introduction of the Chinese Zodiacs and the year of the snake. We were told about the sacrifices animals make for us in being pets, food, mythology, and being the main subject for most science experiments. We were then all invited to take a moment to be thankful for our food and eat!

In doing some research, I was able to learn more about Chinese Zodiacs and how they vary from person to person. I learned that I’m a goat which correlates me to brown, the small intestine, earth, and a plethora of other things.

Like with most things in this course, the professor emphasized that just because we are correlated with a specific animal or organ, it doesn’t mean we have nothing to do with all the other connections. As a goat, I still have a heart and a spleen. Though these are correlated with the horse and the snake, they all work in unison to create a living being.

Not only did I learn how these zodiacs relate to people, but I also learned that they can help shape our year. The year of the snake is projected to be filled with good fortune, rebirth, love, and happiness.
This event has helped me better understand how to find connections between topics that may not seem correlated in the slightest. I believe this is a great skill to develop, and I would recommend everyone dive deeper into the topic or attend an event relating to the year of the snake and Chinese Zodiacs.
Ultimately, I was able to learn more about spiritual connections that we often aren’t conscious of. These connections range from understanding how Chinese culture is ingrained in all of us to connecting with and thanking the animals around us.
